On July 11, 2019, the aluminum industry management initiative ASI announced that Hebei Sitong New Metal Materials Co., Ltd. (Sitong New Material) has become a new member of ASI in the production and processing transformation category, so far, the total number of ASI members has reached 93.

It is reported that Sitong New Material has become the first aluminum intermediate alloy manufacturer to join ASI in the world and the first aluminum alloy wheel manufacturer to join ASI in China.

ASI (Aluminum Stewardship Initiative) aluminum industry management initiative is a non-profit organization committed to the development and certification of global aluminum value chain standards, and develops applicable and voluntary sustainable performance standards and material chain of custody standards for aluminum value chain. Through the production, application and recycling process of aluminum, it promotes the continuous improvement of aluminum value chain. ASI performance standards define the principles and guidelines for environmental, social and corporate governance of the aluminum value chain, aiming to address the issues of responsible production and sustainable development of the aluminum industry. ASI chain of custody (CoC) standard is a supplement to ASI performance standard, which combines responsible production with responsible procurement, and will pay more attention to sustainable development issues in procurement.

At the same time, the membership certification of ASI will help the company to establish and improve the responsible production, responsible procurement and material management of the aluminum metal supply chain.
